Today I stumbled upon a very nice Etsy profile which dealed in vintage glasses and sewing patterns. She had an awesome selection of glasses and sunnies that were sold for a mere 10$. (much cheaper than in store)
Here i'll do a quick write up on my knowledge of glasses during the early days.

Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Andy Warhol and around 80% of the 60's youths favourite style. The vintage Ray Ban's.
The darker Ray Bans with plastic frames were very popular in the jazz scene in NY around the 50's. All the jazzers performed in pitch black specks, and still do up to this day!

A Lana Turner pick. These sharp, high edged glasses were sure to set a fashion statement.
to be really smart, a girl was required to have not only the type to suit her face shape and colour, she had to have a pair for each activity that she were to do.

Jacky O, Bridget Bardot and Liz Taylor loved the oversized frame look.
The grannie glasses were huge in The UK during the hippie era- early 60's which soon spread to the US.

John Lennon, Mao and many other 60's stars looked at the world through their rounded specks.
During the 40-50's, these style speck were matched with hats and high collars among the men, ala detectives.

adapted from a mix of ray ban and oversized shades, these big squared mothers popped up and decorated the old days with their unique shape and colours.
