Our lovely trip to San Xia

San Xia Town
Taiwan

This weekend, Raymond and I decided to travel a bit out of the city to celebrate my newly gained freedom. hihii

On Friday night, we were lying helplessly in bed while watching bits and bobs of some channels on TV. When suddenly we came across Janet's Taiwan Fun program on Discovery Travel and Living where she introduced an old town in Taiwan thats called San Xia. This small retreat was built during the years of being colonized by Japan.

To cut things short, we decided to drive down there the following day.

Accompanied by a lovely weather and breeze, we strolled down the old, antique roads with our camera(s). Yes, somehow Raymond managed to fit 3 or 4 cameras into his bag!!! hahah...

San Xia was OK. It wasn't the old town that I had expected it to be, because the 'town' turned out to only be a road that was packed with tourist commercial stalls. Hmm.

We did manage to get a few pics before it suddenly started to rain...
Enjoy....
Like usual, most of them were edited in Black n White

My morning

This morning, I was woken by a high pitch ringing sound coming from our bedroom balcony.
I looked out of our glass door to see a familiar darkish object on the tiles of the floor.
Our cicada friend that had arrived on our 14th floor balcony last night IS BACK!

Raymond and I managed to sleep through the first hour of ringing until the cicada seemed to never want to stop making that annoying sound.

Ughh.... my morning has started quite rough.
Two hours later and i swear i can somehow still hear it in my head.

Please Mr. cicada, go and mate on a tree down there.....

All shots were taken using our analogue Holga colour splash with a black and white 3200 ISO film by Raymond and me in Dan Shui, Taiwan.

These lovely pictures were taken on a date that my husband took me to in the north of Taiwan,
Dan Shui at the fisherman's Wharf.
There are many more but take too long to post due to the size...

you say hello....

I went to the zoo last weekend and had a great time.
I took millions of pics. and when I got home, I turned them all to black and white! :(
I love black and white!:)
Is it a bad thing? Why am I so scared of colour?

Ps. Today on the tube on the way home from work, I gave my seat to a poor old lady who seemed more in need than me. She gave me a very warm smile..

8 stops later, as I was about to get off, she grabbed my hand near the exit and said thankyou to me. She said "THANKYOU" in English!
Do you know how rare it is here to hear an old lady say thankyou!!

It really made my day...
Such a short but powerful word!

Thankyou old lady- hope we meet again...

Do you have a story about how a simple thank you made your day perfect..
Tell them and let me share them on my blog!

:)
